Scripture Reading:

Matthew 9:36-38

“When He saw the crowds, He felt compassion for them, because they were weary and worn out, like sheep without a shepherd.  Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few.  Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.’”

Discussion Points:

William Carey, the father of modern missions, set sail for India in 1793 and wrote about obstacles, being deserted and persecuted. He believed his faith and God’s word would rise above all and ‘God’s cause will triumph.’

Carey was one man and we are a small team, with the same vision of a great God.

-  What do you think Carey was thinking when he, as one man, reached India to see great numbers of people?

-  What have some of your thoughts been, knowing we had a much smaller team this year?
